the silvermine tapes
a tenuous thread
(out oct 2005)

Patterns in Static are thrilled to announce the release of the long awaited album from Adelaide instrumentalists The Silvermine Tapes.

Combining stunning, melodic soundscapes with a brooding and sometimes explosive approach, the album, entitled 'A Tenuous Thread', was completed three years ago, but has lain dormant since then. Infact, the whole process has been a slow one, with recording taking place sporadically over a period of around two years at Big Sound Studios in the scenic Adelaide Hills.

aviator lane
today, the hills are closed

August 2004 saw Aviator Lane (a.k.a Michael Radzevicius) head over to Melbourne to do his first recording with a certain Marty Brown, drummer and studio operator for bands such as Art of Fighting, Sodastream and Clare Bowditch, and the week that was spent there resulted in a five track mini-album being recorded. Jon and Alex Ashley from Adelaide band Brer Mouse helped greatly in playing guitars and arranging three of the five songs, while Marty added drums.
